We’re pleased to join choreographer Jax Neal in HALA, a live dance theater performance with original music by Adriana Duque and traditional Balkan music performed by Nevenka.

Hala or Ala is the name of a Slavic dragon that swallows the sun and moon in the form of an eclipse. This work considers folk and myth as technologies of becoming, and the fundamental question about the origins of our light and darkness. HALA is a syncretic performance based on cultural collaboration and shared regard for the humanity we build together.

The performances are Friday September 5 and Saturday September 6, starting at 8 p.m., at LA Dance Project in downtown LA. The venue has a parking lot in back and there is street parking. Carpooling is recommended.
