The World Festival of Sacred Music was initiated by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 1999 as part of an unprecedented celebration of the human spirit. The success of 1999, 2002 & 2005 Festivals demonstrate that a grassroots initiative can have a positive impact on our city and promote ethical values that bring community together so that as the public attends concerts, they will consider the spiritual, ethical, and ecological questions of our time.

The Gwen Wyatt Chorale, a 40-strong multiethnic, multigenerational vocal ensemble, will make a joyful noise in the grand space of the Wilshire United Methodist Church with a rousing program in the spirit-lifting tradition of African-American sacred song. We are pleased to be joining them in this event.
